“Art is like beginning a sentence before you know its ending” -unknown author
Abstract Art is truly about the process. I am intrigued by the endless combination of texture, shape, line, and color as well as their relationship to one another. Through the painting process, I turn myself inside out to transform the intangibles of my life —thoughts, feelings, inspirations— into a visual form. My work starts with a mark, a color, or a shape and builds from there. I often have no idea where the painting will go in the beginning stages and I strive for expressive freedom. A story is created as paint is laid down, scraped off, refined, and edited. Through the language of movement, color, and contrast, told layer upon layer, I hope to express visually what I may not be able to verbally.
